Both of Wollstonecraft's novels also critique the discourse of sensibility, a moral philosophy and aesthetic that had become popular at the end of the eighteenth century. In this classical feminist text, she appealed to egalitarian social philosophy as the basis for the creation and preservation of equal rights and opportunities for women. Rousseau's political philosophy heavily inspired the French Trend and far of his work was agreed on by Wollstonecraft. Wollstonecraft however, asks why Rousseau's theories on education of the whole person can not be expanded for girls also.
